Mind Gym is a brain-games app. This policy describes exactly what data the app collects, why, and what choices you have — not a generic template.
The short version
- Your game progress, streaks, and settings are stored only on your device. We never see them.
- We collect anonymous usage data (which screens are used, which games are played) to fix real problems — never your name, never anything you type, never a device identifier tied to you personally.
- Purchases go through Google Play Billing / Apple's App Store. We never see your card number or billing details.
- Ads appear in one place: the results screen, at most once every three sessions, and never at all if you've purchased the full version.
- No account, no login, no email address, ever required to use the app.
Data stored only on your device
Your game history, difficulty progress, and every setting (text size, contrast, sound, reminders) are stored locally on your device using a local database. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the app, this data is gone — we have no copy of it and cannot recover it for you.
Data we collect
Usage analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens people spend time on, which games get replayed, or where people seem to get stuck. Every event we send is limited to things like a screen name, a game name, a difficulty level, or a duration in seconds. We never send your name, any text you type, your device's advertising ID, or any other personal identifier — only Firebase's own anonymous, per-install instance ID, which cannot be used to identify you personally.
You can turn this off at any time in the app: Settings → Usage analytics.
Purchases
If you choose to unlock the full version, your purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing (Android) or the App Store (iOS) through RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. We never see or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail — that information stays with Google/Apple and is governed by their own privacy policies. RevenueCat receives only what's needed to confirm your purchase and keep the full version unlocked across your devices; no name or email is sent unless you separately provide one to Google/Apple directly.
Advertising
Free-version users may see a single ad — an interstitial ad shown on the results screen, at most once every three app sessions, and never for anyone who has purchased the full version. This ad is served by Google AdMob. Depending on your device and region's ad settings, this ad may be personalized based on your device's advertising identifier and ad activity elsewhere. You can control ad personalization directly through your device's own ad settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising / Tracking).
Local notifications
If you turn on the optional daily reminder, it's scheduled entirely on your device's own operating system — no server is involved, and no data about your reminder schedule ever leaves your phone.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account, login, email, or phone number to use the app.
- We don't access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
- We don't sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
- We don't show ads anywhere except the one spot described above — never on a game board, never when you open the app, never on the daily-limit screen.
Children's privacy
Mind Gym is designed for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we'll remove it.
Data sharing
We share limited, non-identifying data with the service providers who help us run the app, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config) — anonymous usage data only, as described above.
- RevenueCat — purchase/entitlement status only, to keep your unlock working across devices.
- Google AdMob — standard mobile advertising data, as described above, only for free-tier users.
We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share data for purposes beyond running the app itself.
Your choices
- Turn off usage analytics any time in Settings → Usage analytics.
- Control ad personalization through your device's own ad settings.
- Delete your local data by uninstalling the app — everything stored on your device goes with it.
- Ask us about your data by emailing us at the address below. Since we don't collect anything that identifies you personally, most requests are answered by explaining what's already true: we don't have a profile to show you, because we never built one.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that meaningfully affects how your data is handled, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
